Today is my weekly rest day. It was a long weekend here in Melbourne so we had Monday to relax (and train) which makes this week nice and short.
This week I hope to get a few good rides in and also lift the distance in my Tempo and Long Run’s.
Monday - 50k Ride (Hills) & 13k Run (Strength) -
Tuesday - Off
Wednesday - 47k Ride (Tempo) & 3k Run (Easy)
Thursday - 20k Run (Long Run) & 5k Run (Easy)
Friday - 47k Ride (Easy) or 12k Run (Yet to Decide)
Saturday - 120k Ride (Hills)
Sunday - 10k Run (Tempo @3.45/km) + Warm Up & Down
Will be pretty sore by the time my Tempo run starts on Sunday but that is the idea I guess, I want to make sure my legs are used to running fatigued so that when race day come around they aren’t shocked by the sub 4 minute pace for the half marathon.
Less than 6 weeks to go till Run Melbourne and everything is on track to break the PR and also break into the Top 150. Should be peaking right on Race Day.Monday Run - http://app.strava.com/activities/59444724 & Monday Ride - http://app.strava.com/activities/59364188
Kicked off the new week with a long run. It’s nice weather here still considering we are now in winter was 12 degrees this morning.
All up did just under 22k of running today 18.5k this morning and then 3.3k run home from work.
Tomorrow it’s a speed session in the morning of around 11k with 2k warm up, 6k TT at about 3.40/km and then a warm down then ill do the 3k run home again to finish off the day.
Operation Black Out Strava is complete after 33 days I’m done and ready for a days rest.
Finished off with a 98k roll to frankston and back. Nice and flat and pretty easy.
Put the bike in for a service so won’t have another ride till Thursday, meaning a long run Tuesday and Speed session Wednesday to kick off my week.
Enjoy your training!
My black out strava challenge finishes tomorrow after 33 days in a row of running or riding I’m gonna finish will a nice cruise to Mt Eliza and back (about 105k).
Did a speed session today of running and managed a PB around the Tan rolling at 3.42/km for 4k. Still felt fresh so after Monday off its back into the schedule to try and run 4 minute k’s during the Run Melbourne Half in under 7 weeks.
Also happened to take a wrong turn and stumbled upon a 2xu clearance sale 2x running shorts, 2x tri shorts 1x tri singlet and 1x running singlet for $210. Amazing!
