To give you an idea of where my training currently stands and the other elements of my life which I think helps me to improve my performance here is my current daily schedule, let me know your thoughts and if you have any suggestions.
Morning: 0540 - Meditate, 0550 - Own body exercises (60 push ups, 60 dips, 80 sit-ups, plank) 0610 - Get Ready for work 0650 - Ride to work 0715 - Arrive at Work
Evening: 1800 - Ride Home, 1845 - Cook up a meal 2000 - Read/Blog/Diary 2130 - Off to Bed
This is a basic idea of my current weekday schedule, over the coming months, I will include a lunchtime workout into my schedule alternating between swimming and running for 30-45 minutes.
This will allow me to be doing 2 hours of training every weekday aswell as an additional 6 hours on the weekend split between 2 x 3 hour blocks.
I completed my first non-corporate triathlon a few months ago and have become hooked on triathlon. I am looking to continue to train ahead of my first attempt at the ironman distance in May next year.
Ironman is the ultimate single day athlete event in the world (if you think not leave a comment), it has always been a dream of mine do do one since I saw Aussie Greg Welsh at Kona on Wide World of Sports.
I have always been fit, but this is a different ball game at the moment I am training 10 hours a week but will need to increase that to around 18-20 hours a week in preperation.
